The Tecnam Sierra is a side by side seating, tricycle gear, low wing light
sport aircraft, in a tractor configuration that has developed a
reputation for strength and durability in both a recreational and
training environment. The Sierra wings feature all metal construction,
mated to a steel truss fuselage structure, a fireproof bulkhead, and a
semi-monocock cone aft section.
The Sierra uses spring steel leaf style landing for it's main land
gear with a rubber donut style shock absorbing steerable nose wheel.
The wide 43" wide cabin with its adjustable seats will comfortably
fit both tall and short pilots. Controls are standard dual stick, rudder
and throttle with electronically operated flaps and trim.
The large instrument panel comes standard with basic VFR and engine
instruments with a wide variety of panels available as options.
Power is supplied by the Rotax 912 S 100 HP aircraft engine. The
plane comes equipped with wing tanks which hold approximately 24 U.S.
gallons of fuel. The Sierra cruises along at 116 knots (75% power),
stalls with flaps at 38 knots, and climbs out a gross at over 1,000 feet
per minute.
Currently over 2100 Tecnam lightsport style aircraft are flying
worldwide. |
