Light Sport Aircraft Pilot is a directory of aircraft that generally fit
into what are described as ultralight aircraft, advanced ultralight
aircraft,
light sport aircraft, experimental light sport aircraft, experimental
aircraft, amateur built aircraft, ELSA or homebuilt
aircraft in the United States and Canada. These include
weight shift aircraft, more commonly known as trikes,
powered parachutes, and powered para-gliders.

The Sky Cycle trike is one of the most award winning trikes on
the ultralight market. This year the company took two awards at Sun N Fun 2010
Best Type Trike and Best Commercial Ultralight.
Michael Theeke really loaded up his booth with some
impressive looking trikes, decked out in special paint schemes and pods.
For
2010 he has also changed the engine mount on his trikes from a mount which hung
the engine upside down to an upright engine mount. This gives a more efficient
thrust line and allows the use of a longer prop, which then makes the units very
quiet. |

While Michael sells his craft ready to fly, he insists that
pilots without trike experience take training with the average novice pilot
taking about 15 hours to learn how to fly. The Sky Cycle trikes can be purchased
with a nu mber of engine options in the single cylinder version of the Sky Cycle
you can get the G25 Zenoah, a Hirth 28 HP, or the MZ 34. He also offers a
Kawasaki 340 twin cylinder, a Kawasaki 440 twin cylinder, and the Rotax 447.
The Sky Cycle trike has been on the market now for over 12
years with close to 400 of them currently flying.
Michael not only manufacturers and builds his planes but also
is one of a handful of trike pilots who is a CFI for weight shift vehicles offering training. He is
located in the Chattanooga Tennessee area which has motel and restaurant
facilities available for those wishing to enroll in courses.
